Peer Mentor – Perinatal Support

Location: Newham, UK
Type: Flexible hours | Community-based | Volunteer / Session-paid role

About the Role
Good Shepherd Voluntary Organisation is looking for warm and supportive individuals to join our perinatal team as Peer Mentors. In this role, you will offer emotional support and encouragement to parents during pregnancy and the early stages of parenting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and support group sessions alongside facilitators

  • Share lived experiences where appropriate to encourage and reassure others

  • Provide one-to-one listening support where needed

  • Promote inclusivity and peer connection

  • Signpost to local resources and support

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of parenting or supporting others through the perinatal period

  • A kind, non-judgemental approach

  • Good listening and communication skills

  • Willingness to attend training and reflective supervision
